Cloud-based clinical and practice management software provider MediRecords and patient education specialist Healthily are collaborating to support better patient outcomes in virtual healthcare settings.
Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, the delivery of healthcare in a face-to-face setting such as a provider’s rooms or clinic was a given. Today, virtual care is not only a necessity – but likely to play an important role in the future of healthcare delivery in Australia. However, with “remote” care come some challenges – including how best to support patients to manage chronic conditions or their general health and wellbeing following and between consultations.
Integration of the GoShare and MediRecords platforms will streamline the provision of health information following a virtual consultation – enabling clinicians and medical professionals to remotely send easy to understand, accessible and engaging resources direct to patients via SMS.
Providing patients with the ability to access condition specific information via their own device, in their own time, will help alleviate the heightened anxiety often experienced during a brief online consultation and support improved patient outcomes.
Commenting on the integration, MediRecords Founder and CEO Matthew Galetto said, “Our partnership with Healthily and integration with the GoShare platform will allow health providers using MediRecords to easily share self-branded health information direct to their patients via SMS following a virtual consultation. Our clients include leading virtual care platforms – many of which are now being used to support aged care and independent care residents. Providing digital health packages about often complex medical conditions following a virtual consultation enables patients to access this information in their own time, with their carers, to support patient outcomes. We are also confident that our clients in the enterprise space will benefit from GoShare’s patient education library and ability to access COVID-19 and diabetes related interactive digital health packages.”
With integration currently underway, it is anticipated that MediRecords’ clients will have access to GoShare’s extensive patient education library from September 2020.
Healthily’s Managing Director Dr Tina Campbell added, “Providing patients with information to self-manage their health is critical at the best of times – even more so during a health crisis which can often leave people isolated and anxious. The shift to virtual care can heighten these feelings. This rapid adoption of telehealth and virtual care services is now driving demand for innovative solutions to support remote doctor-patient conversations. Healthily is committed to enhancing both patient and provider experiences and we look forward to working with the MediRecords team to achieve this in the remote healthcare environment.”
