Doctors, pharmacists and nurse practitioners play a pivotal role in the health and wellbeing of communities, providing patients and customers with information to keep them safe and highlight the risks associated with their condition or medication.
The Victorian Government’s innovative SafeScript program will enhance this role by delivering health professionals with finger-tip access to real-time information about a person’s prescription history of monitored medicines – helping prevent misuse and overdoses.
Healthily is pleased to be involved in this important initiative, with the GoShare platform chosen as the primary patient education tool for the SafeScript rollout.
GoShare’s functionality will enable health professionals to:
- send patients information during or after challenging conversations,
- support patients with educational information about self-management strategies,
- access a range of pre-packaged content bundles on relevant topics prepared by Western Victoria PHN, and
- self-service reporting on patient engagement in the resources.
SafeScript is currently being rolled out across 400 sites in the Western Victoria Primary Health Network including Ararat, Ballarat, Geelong, Maryborough, Stawell and Warrnambool and will be mandatory of all Victorian doctors, pharmacists and nurse practitioners to use from April 2020.
