Salveo Healthcare nurses visit their clients in their home with the goal of increasing time spent in the community and reducing time in hospital. They provide their clients with best practice healthcare information to help manage their chronic conditions. With clinical practice guidelines constantly evolving Salveo Healthcare wanted to ensure their clients and nurses have access to the latest information. Whilst much of this information is readily available online, finding up to date trusted sources using web search alone can be time consuming.
Salveo Healthcare approached Healthily to help address this issue. The GoShare library includes 1,000s of healthcare resources, sourced from Australian state and federal healthcare organisations and peak consumer bodies. All resources are nominated by healthcare professionals and vetted to ensure they come from a trusted source. A weekly link checker identifies when resources are withdrawn or updated by their publishing organisation, automating the process of keeping the information up to date.
Salveo Healthcare was migrating from an existing system, and nursing staff had become familiar with the information structure, so it what important to replicate this in the GoShare library. Over 1000 documents from the existing system were reviewed to ensure that the information was up to date, from the best available source and not already in the GoShare library. The resources were then catalogued following the Salveo information structure to ensure an easy transition from the old system to the new.
Salveo Healthcare nursing staff now use the GoShare as their point of truth for client and clinician resources. Clinician resources are listed in a separate GoShare content module, making it easy to differentiate clinical from consumer information. Many of their clients are elderly or live without Internet and mobile phone access. To address this, Salveo Healthcare nurses print out materials before visiting their clients from GoShare and share video content on their work devices during client visits. In this way a vulnerable population can be kept up to date on best care practices even when this information is increasing being distributed online.
Salveo Healthcare’s Preventative Care Coordinator Margaret Williams “There is an enormous amount of information available to clients and clinicians relating to health. Having a curated and contemporary source of information provides our team with comfort that the information being provided to clients is accurate and up to date”.
Healthily Managing Director Dr Tina Campbell said, “It’s great to be able to configure GoShare to meet Salveo Healthcare’s requirements, and to see the platform being used by clinicians even when the clients are not able to receive the resources via online channels.”
